We are seeking to strengthen our team by appointing a saleroom/auction room manager to join our friendly and professional team at the auction rooms. The full role is:

Saleroom/Auction Room Manager
LOCATION
Killens Mendip Auction Rooms, Rookery Farm, Binegar, Somerset. BA3 4UL.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Saleroom Manager will assist the overall Auction Rooms Manager and will primarily oversee and be actively involved in organising the saleroom, where a vast array of different, interesting and valuable items are displayed and auctioned, at the Mendip Auction Rooms.
The successful candidate will assist in undertaking all necessary tasks within the auction rooms as a whole.
Attention to detail is key and ensuring that items offered for sale are presented in the best light online. The role can be physically demanding and will involve working to tight deadlines. There will be a need to liaise with clients visiting the saleroom. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that the auction rooms are kept operational and tidy at all times and that all preparations are undertaken for viewing and sale days.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with and overseeing other members of staff, the successful candidate will be involved in the:
· Acceptance of auction consignments into the saleroom – assisting clients to unload and in completing the administration paperwork
· Loading of items purchased
· Proper storage of items within the saleroom and professionally presenting items for viewing and sale
· Implementation and administration of stock control procedures
· Keeping of the saleroom, reception area and offices tidy at all times
· Preparation of the saleroom for viewing and sale days including laying out of items etc
PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
Attention to detail vital and a desire to strive for perfection
The ability to prioritise and work calmly and effectively to comply with tight timescales
The ability to work unsupervised and using own initiative
An enthusiastic, friendly and helpful manner for dealing with clients face-to-face and on the telephone
A hands on approach and physically fit
A practical approach with excellent common sense
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Basic computer skills with familiarity with Office software
Good English and communication skills (verbal and written)
HOURS OF WORK
Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm
(Viewing Days one day per month until 6pm; two days per month until 7pm on rota basis)
(Saturday Sale Day one day per month 8am – 5pm or Sunday one day per month 9am - 12pm)
You may be required very occasionally to work hours outside of your standard working pattern
SALARY
£28,000 - £32,000 based upon experience
