Strong interest in guns at Sporting Sale

he Spring Sale held on 10th April attracted a strong turnout of bidders, both in the room and online, with a notable level of engagement throughout the event.

There was an excellent offering of shotguns, rifles, and pistols, with vigorous bidding resulting in impressive prices. Highlights included a Rigby .275 bolt action rifle achieving £1,800 and a Beretta S04 Sporting shotgun fetching £1,100. Winchester rifles were particularly sought after, drawing interest from buyers across Europe and the United States.

Over 400 lots were offered, and while buyers waited patiently for the wines and spirits section, strong competition was seen for the high-quality bottles. A 1973 Longrow Single Campbeltown malt whisky sold for £1,500, with other fine whiskies realising between £400 and £1,000. Ports, brandies, and other spirits also achieved commendable prices.

A varied selection of fishing rods, reels, and equipment attracted solid interest both in-room and online. Other diverse items sold included sawfish rostrums, football programmes, taxidermy, ball sports memorabilia, and a notable collection of paintings and pictures.
