At the end of another busy double auction week, we can look back on a number of highlights.
Tuesday’s Interiors and Collectables sale featured over 900 lots from the 18th to 20th centuries and went on to sell over 90%. Top lots included a pair of child’s riding boots (£650), an extensive collection of vintage woodworking tools (£620), a blue painted chest of drawers (£550) and a pine settle (£480).
Within a day, the team had transformed the saleroom into an elegant display of the Fine Art, Antiques, Silver & Jewellery auction. The two-day preview saw many visitors, and the auction on Saturday saw a number of sales over four figures, including a Chinese blue and white jar (£10,800), two lots of Boucheron Paris jewellery – white gold and diamond earrings (£2000), and a white gold and diamond feather brooch (£1600) – a flags of the United Nations silver ingot collection, amongst others.
