Our Toys and Trains Sale on 24th April drew strong global interest and a lively saleroom turnout. Train collectors were particularly enthusiastic, with a Hornby Dublo 00 gauge 2-rail 'Bournemouth Belle' Pullman Train set selling for an impressive £2,400—thanks largely to its original box.
Steam-related items were also hotly contested, fetching £420 in total, while other notable results included a Hornby Dublo electric locomotive at £400, seventeen boxed coaches at £360, and layout accessories at £340. Locomotives generally sold between £200–£300 each.
While diecast vehicle bidding was more modest, highlights included Dinky model aircraft (£190), Kyosho 1:18 scale cars (£160), and a Corgi Ecurie Ecosse Transporter (£140). A Lego Technic CAT D11 Bulldozer made £140, reflecting continued demand for high-quality Lego.
Teddy bears and dolls also saw strong bidding, with an antique straw-filled polar bear heading to Germany for £380, and a collection of Sindy dolls selling for £200. Other standout lots included a Subbuteo ‘Targetman’ game at £290.
